Round 5, 137th Overall: Mekhi Becton, OL, Louisville

Mekhi Becton is a big and powerful offensive lineman who has slimmed down this season and is showing more mobility than ever before. He is a strong run blocker who finishes extremely well and has shown some improvement in pass protection. Whether Becton is a tackle or a guard at the next level, this would be a nice shot at some offensive line upside for the Jets.

Round 6, 169th Overall: Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio State

Damon Arnette is not the most impressive athlete at the cornerback position, but he is a smart player who understands route concepts well and knows how to read the quarterback. He has been a rock-solid contributor at Ohio State for three seasons and has shown the ability to defend the slot and on the outside.

Adding Adebo to the mix would certainly help the Jets’ cornerback situation, but they could still certainly use a solid contributor like Arnette. Snagging him late in this mock draft feels like a strong pick for this team.

Round 7, 201st Overall: T.J. Brunson, LB, South Carolina

South Carolina linebacker T.J. Brunson is an extremely fun prospect to watch. His competitive toughness is a major plus in his game, as this guy never gives up on the play. He is an extremely physical and high-motor player who shows some nice upside as a run defender at the next level.

He is a bit on the small side and has limitations in coverage, but Brunson has an A+ work ethic that should allow him to stick around an NFL roster. At worst, he should be a solid depth guy who shines on special teams.
