Round 1, 9th Overall: Paulson Adebo, CB, Stanford

In this mock draft, the New York Jets held the ninth overall pick. When the real 2020 NFL Draft rolls around, they could easily be picking much higher. With all of the upper echelon players off of the board at number nine, the Jets find a talented player who also fills an obvious need on their roster.

More from NFL Mocks

Cornerback continues to be a major issue for the Jets, but they address this obvious position of need in this mock draft with the selection of Paulson Adebo. A converted wide receiver who shows obvious athleticism and fantastic natural man-to-man coverage skills, Adebo is undoubtedly one of the best defensive backs in the 2020 NFL draft class.

The New York Jets have some nice talent on the defensive side of the ball, but their glaring hole at cornerback has continually held them back in recent years. Adding Adebo to the mix does not fix all of their issues, but he is undoubtedly a step in the right direction.

Round 2, 41st Overall: Kenny Willekes, EDGE, Michigan State

The Jets have struggled to find an impact edge rusher in the draft for many years and here in the second-round of this mock, they take another shot. Kenny Willekes is not the most fluid or explosive edge rusher in this draft class, but he is an extremely tough and physical player who has a relentless motor on the field.

While his raw upside on the edge is relatively limited, Willekes uses the most out of his talents at all times. He is a saavy rusher who always develops a pass rush plan and has a ton of counter moves. He also sets the edge extremely well and plays great assignment football against the run. A bit of a safe pick here for the Jets, as they fill a defensive need with a rock-solid player.
