Round 1, Pick 1: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

In this mock draft scenario, the Miami Dolphins are not messing around. Drafting a franchise quarterback to come into such a barren situation is risky, but they are not in a position to pass on a great quarterback prospect like Tua Tagovailoa. Plus, they will have plenty of draft capital to build this roster around their new franchise quarterback.

Tagovailoa is a clean quarterback prospect who has consistently shined throughout his college career. With a big arm and great mobility, Tagovailoa has all of the physical traits that you want out of a franchise signal-caller. However, he brings so much more to the table.

At Alabama, Tagovailoa has shown pinpoint accuracy to all field and has consistently shown the ability to place the ball when needed. He understands how to lead and protect his receivers and he can place the ball on an absolute dime.

Tagovailoa is also a smart quarterback who reads defenses well and understands when he needs to check it down. Also, while he has the arm to fire the ball into tight spaces when needed, Tagovailoa shows an impressive ability to put touch on his passes when the situations calls.

Simply put, Tua Tagovailoa is the best quarterback prospect in the 2020 NFL draft class. He is a rare player who legitimately has a safe floor and a high ceiling. If they get the opportunity to draft him, the Miami Dolphins simply cannot pass on a guy like Tua.
