Cleveland Browns

Like Roseman, John Dorsey is always looking at creative ways to improve his team’s roster. He made a trade for a top-tier, big personality player this offseason. Why not give it another whirl with Ramsey?

The Browns invested a top-four pick in a man-to-man cornerback with Denzel Ward in last year’s draft. This year, despite not having a first-round pick (having traded it for Odell Beckham Jr.), Dorsey used his first pick on yet another cover corner in Greedy Williams.

You may think that with the team already having so much invested in the future of the position that they may not be interested in acquiring a corner at this time. But Williams clearly needs time to develop, as Terrance Mitchell beat him out for the starting job this preseason, and a Ramsey-Ward duo would be one of the best in the league.

If the Browns want to prove themselves as real contenders this year, they need to do whatever they can to load their lineup with talent. They need to be all-in on the near future. Browns fans are tired of rebuilding. They expect a winner and expect it now. Ramsey would obviously be a huge addition and contributor to a defense that is already extremely talented.

After a 30-point loss to the Titans in week one, Browns fans fear the worst. Skeptics are quick to dismiss the Brownies as just a bunch of hype. Cleveland needs to prove that they are for real, and making another move to add an extremely talented football player would go a long way towards doing that. They still need to show on the field that they are more than just good on paper, but the Browns should really be able to compete with any team in the league, and adding Jalen Ramsey would put them right in the thick of things in the AFC.

Buffalo Bills

A bit of a surprise to some, the Buffalo Bills are off to an impressive 2-0 start. Now they have played both New York teams, the Jets and the Giants, in their first two games, so they haven’t exactly faced top-notch competition. But the Bills look good and have the potential to sustain a very good season.

The Bills quietly made the playoffs in 2017, then decided to draft their hopeful franchise quarterback in Josh Allen. After a year of getting his feet under him, Allen seems to be ready to lead the Bills to a very successful season. The Buffalo defense has been one of the best in the league in recent years, so bringing in another top player could make the Bills legitimate contenders in the AFC.

The Bills already have one very good outside corner in TreDavious White, so adding Jalen Ramsey would give the Bills a top corner tandem of their own. With safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer, the Bills currently have an underrated secondary. Ramsey would give the Bills an elite defense, and that could be just what Allen and the offense need to get the Bills back in the playoffs in 2019.

Again, the Patriots, who the Bills are currently tied with atop the AFC East, just added one of the best wide receivers in the game. The Bills still have to play the Patriots at least twice this season. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to bring in one of the best cornerbacks in the league to combat the improved New England offense?

Even if they don’t beat out the Pats for the division title, Buffalo, with Jalen Ramsey, absolutely have what it takes to secure a wild card spot and maybe even win a playoff game. Locking in Ramsey’s services for this season and next could be a great way for an up-and-coming team like the Bills to make themselves legitimate contenders right now and for the foreseeable future.
