Ravens vs. Cardinals preview: Jackson vs. Murray headlines NFL Week 2
By Andrew Kim
The Baltimore Ravens play their home opener against the Arizona Cardinals, as Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray go head to head in an exciting matchup.
The 1-0 Ravens host the 0-0-1 Cardinals at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday. Baltimore is coming off a blowout in Miami 59-10 while Arizona pulled off a comeback to tie with Detroit 27-27.
Lamar Jackson showed tremendous growth as a passer without running and beat a team reeling in tank mode while rookie quarterback Kyler Murray and head coach Kliff Kingsbury end Week 1 with a tie. Former Heisman winning quarterbacks will match up on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, as it is the second matchup between Heisman quarterbacks in Week 2 (Cam Newton and Jameis Winston).
Jackson is looking to continue his passing success against a defense that allowed Matthew Stafford to throw 385 yards and 3 touchdowns. Against the Miami Dolphins, he threw 324 yards and five touchdowns before the starters sat the rest of the game.
Murray had a slow start last week but rebounded and had a good game as the first start of his rookie year. He also had a good game through the air with 308 yards and two touchdowns (one interception). This should be a fun game to watch as the Ravens defense will have an interesting challenge in defending Murray and Jackson will face a better defense than last week.
