Highlighting the top 2020 NFL Draft prospects to watch in the marquee college football matchup between No. 6 LSU and No. 9 Texas.

On Saturday evening, the ninth-ranked Texas Longhorns will play host to the sixth-ranked LSU Tigers in college football’s marquee matchup of the weekend. This game will be filled with top-tier NFL Draft talent all over the field, as both teams showcase impact players on both sides of the ball.

In this post, we are going to take a look at the top 2020 NFL Draft prospects in this game. Both teams have players who have a great chance to be first-round selections next April. Up first, we look at legitimately one of the best prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft class.

Grant Delpit, S, LSU

LSU safety Grant Delpit is not only the best 2020 NFL draft prospect in this game, but he is also arguably the best prospect in the entire class. While the safety position has not typically been valued highly by NFL teams, Delpit is a tremendous player who has legitimate top-five pick upside.

Delpit is an incredibly versatile safety prospect who can impact the game in a variety of ways. He is a ferocious downhill defender against the run who sheds blocks with ease and tackles extremely well in space. Delpit has also shown an ability to make an impact as a blitzer off of the edge. He has real bend around the corner and closes on the quarterback quickly, using his explosive athleticism to create pressure on the passer.

Most importantly, Delpit is a strong player in coverage. He has great range on the back-end and phenomenal natural ball skills. He is also strong in man-to-man coverage, showing the versatility to defend running backs, tight ends and most wide receivers.

This guy is an absolute stud 2020 NFL Draft prospect who is going to be one of the highest-graded players in the entire class. I would like to see Delpit make some more big plays, but overall, there is nothing really to complain about when it comes to his game.

Versatility is such a key for NFL teams at the safety position. They want a guy who can do it all. Make no mistake about it, Grant Delpit is a guy who can do it all.
