2020 NFL Draft: First round mock draft as the NFL season begins
12. Oakland Raiders: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
If they were picking a bit higher in this mock draft, I probably would have gone with a quarterback for the Oakland Raiders. I am not a big Derek Carr guy and think that the Raiders would be much better off looking to move on from him at the position. That being said, they are on the clock here at 12 where LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton makes a lot of sense.
Fulton is an incredibly sticky man-to-man defender who particularly excels in press-man coverage. He is patient near the line of scrimmage, timing his punch well and hitting it accurately. Fulton does a fantastic job of mirroring opposing wide receivers and consistently sticks in their hip pocket.
He is a smooth cornerback prospect who always seems to stick with his man. The Raiders could use some help in the secondary and Fulton is a guy who could come in immediately be their number one guy.
13. Jacksonville Jaguars: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
Henry Ruggs III has speed for days and could legitimately challenge records at the combine. However, he is much more than a straight burner. This guy is a smart and disciplined receiver who runs good routes and knows how to get open. His speed is legitimately elite, but he also shows great start-and-stop quickness and gets up to top speed extremely quickly.
The Jacksonville Jaguars need a ton of help at the wide receiver position and would benefit greatly from having Ruggs to take the top off of the defense. Landing him as a weapon for Nick Foles in their offense would be an absolute game-changer for this offense.
