2020 NFL Draft: First round mock draft as the NFL season begins

4. Buffalo Bills: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama

Personally, I do not think the Buffalo Bills be picking this high in the 2020 NFL Draft. Buffalo has a nice, well-rounded roster that should at least be able to compete for a Wildcard spot. If quarterback Josh Allen shows improvement, the Bills should be an interesting team to watch in 2019. That being said, a poor season that leads to a high draft pick is certainly in the realm of possibility.

In this mock draft, the Bills land Jerry Jeudy with the fourth overall pick. Jeudy is an absolute star at the wide receiver position, showing elite route-running ability, hands and run after catch skills. His overall speed and athleticism and good, not great, but Jeudy is an absolute wizard who makes the most out of every play.

He is a superstar NFL receiver in the making and would be an ideal fit as Allen’s number one receiver in Buffalo.

5. Detroit Lions: Chase Young, EDGE, Ohio State

The Detroit Lions could go in many different directions with this pick. With all of the defenders still on the board and Matt Patricia being a defensive guy, I primarily looked to go with defense for this pick. Eventually, I settled on Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young.

Young is a bit of a raw prospect who I would like to see develop more of a consistent pass rush plan during his final college season. However, when it comes to traits, this guy has it all. Young is a big, long, powerful and athletic edge defender who can fly around the edge and quickly attack the quarterback on a consistent basis. He is also a stout run defender who sets the edge well and can take down ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage when asked to do so.

Pairing Young with veteran Trey Flowers would give the Lions a potentially dynamic duo of edge rushers to build their defense around.
