Cincinnati Bengals: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

The Cincinnati Bengals have been a team stuck in mediocrity for many years. They wisely moved on from head coach Marvin Lewis this past offseason and next offseason will likely be used to tear down and rebuild the roster.

New Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is a bright offensive mind who could turn their fortunes around with the right pieces in place. However, Andy Dalton is not going to be the guy to lead them to the promised land. Dalton is an average NFL quarterback at best and the Bengals need to find Taylor a young and promising quarterback to work with.

Tagovailoa is my favorite quarterback prospect for the 2020 NFL Draft, but Oregon’s Justin Herbert is not far behind. He would be a great addition to the Bengals’ rebuild and undoubtedly has the talent to bring them back to relevance.

Herbert has an extremely live arm, is incredibly mobile and has great accuracy to all levels of the field. He has a beautiful deep ball that he can throw with pin-point accuracy and has more than enough velocity on his throws to fire the ball into small spaces.

Herbert does have some sloppy footwork in the pocket, struggles at times with pressure and needs to work a bit on the mental side of the game. However, none of these are consistent issues in his game. He has the ability to work through all of his flaws.

Simply put, Herbert is an extremely talented quarterback prospect who has massive upside at the next level. The Bengals should be ecstatic if they have a chance to add him to their roster in the 2020 NFL Draft.
