2020 NFL mock draft: Tua Tagovailoa to the rescue in Miami
The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t ever seem to have a need for drafting a receiver, but they always do take someone and that guy always ends up being great for your fantasy team.
With Juju Smith-Schuster and James Washington the apparent 1-2 for now, the Steelers add a dynamic third option in Jalen Reagor who — like many others in this class — has unreal speed.
Take a wide receiver in the first if you can.
The 6-foot-1, 202-pound defensive back out of Florida could be a jack-of-all-trades for the Dallas Cowboys, who are probably going to need some young talent in the secondary with all the money they are investing into the offense.
Henderson had five tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and five pass breakups last season at Florida and looks like a versatile weapon for the secondary.
Although Dylan Moses is about to miss the entire 2019 season, he will still be the top linebacker prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft if he declares, and what he’s already put on tape is stellar.
The Raiders — who will be the Las Vegas Raiders when they make this draft selection — have to shore up the middle of their defense which is filled with free agent castoffs at this point.
Moses could be a permanent solution for them.
Although the Eagles have high hopes for Miles Sanders, this is a team that has proven it is willing to invest in multiple big-time prospects at a position and Howie Roseman never seems to have his roster lacking anywhere.
The Eagles got a franchise left tackle in last year’s draft, and with their first rounder in 2020, they can probably afford to make a luxury pick like this.
When Swift was a true freshman playing with Sony Michel and Nick Chubb, many felt like he was the best running back prospect on campus.
The departure of Mitch Morse this offseason left a void at center for the Chiefs, who didn’t make any really high-impact move to replace him.
Biadasz is a versatile player for the Badgers who could move all around the interior offensive line and perhaps provide Kansas City with a permanent solution at the center position.
The Saints are like many teams at the bottom of this list — they don’t have a ton of needs. One area I think they could get a bit better is at the cornerback position, where they are betting on Eli Apple’s career being resurrected opposite Marshon Lattimore.
There’s nothing wrong with putting your hope there, but if it doesn’t work out, the Saints might be looking at the best corner available when their pick comes around in the 2020 draft.
Diggs is a former wide receiver whose transition to cornerback has gone quite well, and he started off his 2019 season with an interception against Duke.
The Iowa Hawkeyes had two tight ends taken in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and could very well have two offensive tackles taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
If their running backs aren’t writing thank you notes to these guys for whatever success comes their way, they should be.
Jackson is the left tackle for the Hawkeyes, and although he was hurt in the team’s first game, he has first-round tackle abilities and should be a high selection, whether he’s gone in the first or second round.
The Patriots don’t have a tight end on their roster right now that I think is going to make a huge impact in 2019, at least not enough for them to build around them for the foreseeable future.
This year’s tight end class is not nearly as strong as the 2019 class, but there are still some great players and one of the best is the man they call “Albert O.” down at Missouri.
Okwuegbunam has 17 touchdowns his first two seasons for the Tigers and looks like one of the best pass catching threats at his position in the entire country.
He had three catches for 72 yards in his first game without Drew Lock.
