Yetur Gross-Matos. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE. Penn State. 17. 44

The Falcons are going to have to wrestle with the possibility that Vic Beasley is not the long-term answer at edge this offseason, and the same is probably true of Takk McKinley. I don’t think they will move on from both, but they need to start thinking about other guys to bring in.

Gross-Matos was a first-team All-Big Ten selection last year with eight sacks and 20.5 tackles for loss, and he opened up Penn State’s 2019 campaign with two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss.

player. 53. Pick Analysis. Isaiah Simmons. LB/S. Clemson. 18. Scouting Report

Simmons is a unique type of defender, sort of in the mold of Anthony Barr but with a bit more Kam Chancellor in him.

Simmons attacks the line of scrimmage fearlessly, and can match up with faster guys in coverage.

He’s sort of like an upgraded version of what the Browns had in Jabrill Peppers, and can probably do more things they will need. One way or another, I think the Browns need to upgrade the back end of their defense and this guy is legit.

Scouting Report. WR. 19. 49. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma State. Tylan Wallace. player

Say it with me: Draft a wide receiver in 2020.

I love this year’s class. It’s crazy to think players like Tylan Wallace and Jalen Reagor could be available at this point, but they are.

Wallace is a phenomenal route runner and a magician in the open field with great speed, quickness, and elusiveness.

He finished in the top three last year for the Biletnikoff award as the nation’s top receiver.

Scouting Report. Stanford. 20. 59. player. Pick Analysis. OT. Walker Little

Both KJ Costello and Walker Little left Stanford’s season opener with injuries, and the unknown there at this point is a little concerning.

Little has top 10 potential if he’s healthy, however, and would be a great pickup for the Dolphins if they were to draft Tagovailoa to be their new franchise QB.

Pick Analysis. Derrick Brown. 21. Scouting Report. DL. Auburn. player. 60

The Vikings get a tremendous value here in an interior defensive lineman who could pair with Linval Joseph to absolutely wreck game plans for opposing offenses.

Derrick Brown has gotten some top 10 and even some top 5 love in the preseason, but you never know how these things are going to end up. The value of this draft may not be on the interior DL, but Brown could certainly go much higher than this.

22. Raekwon Davis. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. DL. Alabama. 26

Although Ozzie Newsome is not making the calls, Eric DeCosta has seen what kind of impact these young Alabama players are capable of making within the Ravens’ system, and Davis would be a very nice pickup for them at this point in the first-round.

Built like DeForest Buckner, Davis is hoping for a rebound in 2019 statistically after somewhat of a down 2018 season.

13. Pick Analysis. RB. Clemson. 23. player. Scouting Report. Travis Etienne

What’s going to happen with Melvin Gordon?

The Chargers and their Pro Bowl running back appear headed for a separation at some point, and they should look to secure the best value for him possible.

Once that happens, LA can feel good about using another first-round pick on a running back as they are in a rare position to take literally any position they want with such a deep roster.

Travis Etienne has elite speed, vision to go with it, and can work between the tackles as well as he can on the outside.

Scouting Report. OT. Trey Adams. player. 36. Pick Analysis. Washington. 24

The Seahawks have a strong young core, and they just addressed their biggest need in my eyes by trading for Jadeveon Clowney.

With their edge players in tact hopefully for the foreseeable future, the Seahawks can return their attention to protecting Russell Wilson.

Adams is a local product who has struggled some staying healthy, but has always had first-round talent and could be the left tackle of the future after starting out as the right tackle opposite Duane Brown.
