R1P22: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

The 2020 NFL Draft is going to be absolutely loaded with top-tier talent at the wide receiver position. Jerry Jeudy leads the way in the class, but there are plenty of other receivers who will undoubtedly be in the first-round conversation. Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is a fantastic playmaker who is probably the receiver who has the best chance of pushing Jeudy for that top spot.

With the 22nd pick of this mock draft, the Miami Dolphins add Lamb to their offensive arsenal.

Lamb is a good athlete who is quicker than he is fast, but can consistently create separation against most cover cornerbacks. He is a smooth route runner who cuts sharp and quick, and he has a knack for finding space against zone coverage.

The elite-level ball skills are what separates Lamb from the pack. He is an incredible natural hands catcher who can go up and get the ball in any situation. Whether he is wide open or completely stuck in traffic, Lamb is going to come down with the catch far more often than not.

His overall body control and ability to track the ball in the air is elite. He also shows incredible footwork and awareness along the sideline. Lamb is not an overly impressive player after the catch, but he shows some natural elusiveness in the open field and can win with power against some smaller defensive backs.

The Miami Dolphins have legitimate needs all over the roster. In this specific 2020 NFL Draft scenario, I am looking to build this team for Lawrence or the next quarterback for the Dolphins to be successful. First, we got the new quarterback a talented left tackle to protect him. Now, we get him a legitimate number one receiver on the outside.
