The Oklahoma Sooners and Houston Cougars will face off in an interesting opening week matchup on Sunday night. Find out how to catch all of the action live.

The Oklahoma Sooners enter the 2019 season as the fourth-ranked team in the entire nation. They will open their year at home with a Sunday night matchup against the Houston Cougars.

Fresh off of their fourth-consecutive Big 12 championship and another appearance in the College Football Playoff, Oklahoma is set up for another big season. They are loaded with playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, led by wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb has a chance to be one of the top wide receivers in a loaded 2020 NFL draft class at the position. He is an incredible athlete at the position and understands how to get open and make plays. Defending Lamb is going to be an absolute nightmare for the Houston defense.

The Sooners will likely go as far as quarterback Jalen Hurts will take them this season. Hurts had an impressive career at Alabama, going 26-2 in three seasons as their starting quarterback. However, he lost his job to Tua Tagovailoa last season and decided to try to rebound with Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma.

Hurts was not the most impressive passer at Alabama, but is a smart and tough player who has played in many big games. He is unlikely to make the same kind of impact that Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray have the past two seasons, but Hurts is a good football player who should be able to get the ball to the Sooners’ playmakers.

The Dana Holgorsen era is here for the Houston Cougars, as the well-respected coach is looking to turn this program into a powerhouse. Houston has some interesting talent on the roster, but they are unlikely to compete for anything too significant this season. Holgorsen has some work to do to get this program on the map.

Their most exciting player is senior quarterback D’Eriq King, who is returning after suffering a knee injury late last season. King is a dynamic athlete at the quarterback position who can consistently make plays with his legs. He is an incredibly fast and elusive player who piled up 50 total touchdowns for Houston last season.

King is not the most polished passer, but he is an impressive playmaker who can dominate any college football game. If the Cougars are going to have any chance in this game, King is going to have to be the reason.
