Keelan Doss, WR

The Oakland Raiders waiving undrafted rookie Keelan Doss on Saturday was a surprise to many. Doss balled out throughout preseason and consistently caught the attention of Raiders head coach Jon Gruden.

Doss is not the most physically gifted wide receiver, but he is a smart and smooth route runner who can consistently get open on the field. He has fantastic hands and wins many contested-catch situations.

The Cardinals are likely to showcase a wide-open offensive attack this season, commonly playing with four and five receivers on the field. They have to make sure they find enough wide receivers for them to trust throughout the season and Doss would certainly be a welcomed addition to the mix. As things stand now, the Cardinals do have seven receivers on the roster. However, Doss would likely be an easy upgrade over Damiere Byrd if they decide eight is too many.

John Franklin-Myers, DL

John Franklin-Myers was a fourth-round selection by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2018 NFL Draft. After a solid rookie season where he was a strong rotational defensive lineman for the Rams, Franklin-Myers was waived on Saturday.

The Rams moving on from Franklin-Myers was surprising, but it creates an opportunity for the Cardinals to add an interesting young defensive lineman. He proved to be a solid 3-4 defensive end last season and showed some upside as an interior pass rusher. The Cardinals could certainly use some quality depth up front and Franklin-Myers appears to be the best fit on the open market.
