The Arizona Cardinals have the top waiver-wire priority and are in a great position to add some interesting young talent to the mix. Which players should they be targeting?

With cutdown day behind us, the Arizona Cardinals are in a position to make some noise on the waiver wire on Sunday. Arizona holds the top waiver priority, meaning they can snag any available player with fewer than four years of NFL service time.

Holding the top waiver priority gives the Cardinals a chance to add any interesting young player on the open market that they wish. There is plenty of talent out there and the Cardinals are the kind of team who can take some chances on these young players.

Every team wants to be competitive, but deep down, the Arizona Cardinals know that they are not Super Bowl contenders this season. If they find an interesting young player who they believe could grow in their system, there should be no hesitation in making that happen.

After making their own cuts on Saturday, the Cardinals currently sit with 51 players on their roster. With cornerback Robert Alford fully expected to be put on short-term IR, Arizona has three open spots on their roster that they can fill through the waiver wire. If they find more than three players that they like, there are easy cuts they can make even more moves.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at five specific targets who the Arizona Cardinals should target on the waiver wire.
