Some are confused about how to classify Isaiah Simmons in terms of his position.

Is he a safety? Is he a linebacker?

It doesn’t matter — he just flat out attacks the football.

Last season for the Tigers, Simmons had 88 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, six pass breakups, three forced fumbles, two sacks, and an interception.

Flash, flash, flash. That’s all this guy does when you watch Clemson play.

Now in his redshirt junior year, it’s clear that Simmons is primed to be one of the most interesting defensive players available for the 2020 NFL Draft if he declares.

Simmons is a really rare breed of player. He’s unlike anything I can remember seeing in terms of his ability to play at and around the line of scrimmage, blitz, cover, and play the run. He does everything really well.

The NFL doesn’t have to pigeon-hole him into one position, but should instead be looking at how Clemson is using him so they can get some ideas going forward.
