Miami Hurricanes Players To Watch

Thomas is a bolt of lightning with the ball in his hands. In two seasons, Thomas averages 18.0 yards per reception, 22.6 yards per kickoff return and 24.6 yards per punt return. He also doesn’t lack in making the spectacular catch from time to time.
QB Jarren Williams – Imagine being a redshirt freshman, recently given the keys to the offense as the starter and staring at your first start in your career against a team like the Gators. No doubt Williams has a difficult task ahead of him. Many players and coaches for Miami truly feel he is ready. Until then, all we can do is speculate. If the Hurricanes are to win this game, Williams has to play like he has seen this spotlight before.
S Gurvan Hall – Speaking of big shoes to fill, Hall is a newly inserted defensive back who to replace a pair of starting safeties from last season in Jaquan Johnson and Sheldrick Redwine. The question must be asked, is he up to the task? If play during team scrimmages were any indication, then Hall will have already answered that question with a resounding yes. But this stage is much different and Hall’s playmaking ability will be tested.
LB Shaquille Quarterman – The senior linebacker has been a starter for the Hurricanes since his freshman season in 2016. Over that time, Quarterman has racked up 249 tackles, 31 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. Quarterman has been a source for production and quality play for the Hurricanes during his time there and is the undoubted leader for this talented Canes defense. A unit that was 18th in scoring defense and 4th in overall defense last season.
