Andy Isabella, Arizona Cardinals: 62nd pick of 2019 NFL Draft

Arizona will have a totally new look offense this season, as they traded in their 2018 first-round quarterback for a shiny new one in 2019.

The Cards then spent three more draft picks on wide receivers to pair with their new star, with the first being former UMASS speedster, Andy Isabella.

Isabella was a Twitter favorite throughout the draft process, especially after clocking a 4.31 40 at the combine. That tied for the fastest among receivers and elevated his popularity even more.

He is truly a ‘peel the top off of the defense’ kind of guy that will make coverage pay if they don’t respect his speed. His routes are sudden and he can be moved all over the offense.

It shouldn’t take long to see what made him such a popular prospect but with a rookie QB and a lot of young, hungry competition in the receiver room, I can’t see Isabella racking up the touchdown numbers in year one.

D.K. Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks: 64th pick of 2019 NFL Draft

D.K. Metcalf was easily the most talked about player at the 2019 NFL scouting combine after running a blazing 4.33 40 while measuring in at 6’3” and 228 pounds. His blend of elite speed and strength paired with his unbelievable physique made him a household name overnight.

Unfortunately for Metcalf, NFL teams didn’t get quite as excited as Twitter did. There were concerns about his route running ability and agility after his below-average cone drills, so he ended up slipping to the Seahawks with the last pick of the second round.

I personally believe this was the perfect landing spot for Metcalf and he could be a huge contributor right away in Seattle.

With Tyler Lockett being the primary focus within that offense, Russell Wilson should be able to find Metcalf in single coverage quite a bit this season.

If Metcalf can continue to work on his route tree and prove that he can be more than just a jump-ball player, he could very well be the next big thing in the NFL.
