These 2020 NFL Draft prospects are not the top number one pick contenders, but they may have a chance.

We recently put together a list of the 2020 NFL draft prospects who are most likely to go number one overall. Between Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, A.J. Epenesa, Chase Young and Jerry Jeudy, I think we pinpointed the top-tier prospects as we enter the upcoming college football season. However, a lot can change between now and the 2020 NFL Draft next April.

Anybody can drastically improve their draft stock between now and next April, with many players still having a good chance to get in the number one overall conversation. I mean, look no further than the 2018 and 2019 NFL Draft.

Baker Mayfield was not on anybody’s first-round radar heading into his final season at Oklahoma, but he came out and dominated. His Heisman Trophy-winning season led to him going number one overall to the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 NFL Draft.

We saw almost the exact same situation with Kyler Murray last season. Murray was a top-ten pick in the MLB Draft who was just supposed to play one season at Oklahoma before heading to the Oakland Athletics minor league system. Instead, he dominated, won a Heisman Trophy and went to the Arizona Cardinals with the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

We may think we know what will happen, but when it comes down to it, everything can change quickly. In this post, we are going to pinpoint the players who can make a Mayfield or Murray-like rise and becoming a surprising first overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. Up first, another Oklahoma quarterback.
