The 2020 NFL draft class will be loaded with talented offensive linemen, but Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas is the best of the bunch.

Obviously, it depends on who ends up declaring, but the 2020 NFL draft class is shaping up to have a nice crop of offensive linemen. Guys like Tristan Wirfs, Prince Tega Wanogho, Trey Adams, Alaric Jackson, Trey Smith and Tyler Biadasz will all be in the mix, but Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas will likely be the best of the bunch.

Thomas is a former big-time offensive line prospect who started right away at Georgia. As a true freshman in 2017, Thomas started all 15 games for the Bulldogs at the right tackle position and had immediate success. He was named first-team freshman All-American for his play.

Georgia moved Thomas over to left tackle last season, where he continued to play at an extremely high level. Thomas started all 13 games for the Bulldogs at left tackle, picking up second-team All-American and first-team All-SEC accolades.

Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing in at 320 pounds with long arms and a stout frame, Thomas has the ideal build for an NFL left tackle. He also showcases impressive overall athleticism and mobility for an offensive lineman, consistently being able to win against speed rushers on the outside and getting in the proper position as a run blocker.

Thomas is quick and explosive off of the ball and delivers an extremely powerful and accurate punch on a consistent basis. He can absolutely dominate at the point of attack, doing a nice job of creating leverage with proper pad level and consistently keeping his feet moving.

In pass protection, Thomas moves his feet well and knows how to use his length to his advantage. He is a patient player who will not over-reach and is elite at holding his ground when anchoring.

Thomas does tend to stay too high in pass protection at times, causing issues against quick counter moves. This especially pops out when defending against a quick rusher who makes a move to the inside. However, this is something that he can work on and easily improve.
