These five 2020 NFL draft prospects have the best chance to go number one.

As we have seen the last two years, the first overall pick in the NFL draft can come from out of nowhere. A year before he went with the top pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, Baker Mayfield was a guy who lost his job at Texas Tech, transferred and walked on at Oklahoma. Nobody considered him a top-tier draft prospect. A year before he went first overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, Kyler Murray was had already been drafted in the top ten to play baseball.

It is important to remember that things can change quickly. However, Mayfield and Murray are exceptions to the rule. Many times, we can pinpoint who the most likely top NFL draft picks will be a year out.

Barring Oklahoma grooming another quarterback prospect to the top (Lincoln Riley is great, but I do not see that happening with Jalen Hurts), I think the top prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft are fairly obvious. Also, I would be surprised to see the top of this draft changing much when the draft actually rolls around.

Obviously, things can change quickly, but these top-tier prospects are rock-solid. Who are the top contenders for the number one overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft? Let’s take a look.
