Why it makes sense for the Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are a Super Bowl contender and they don’t need any distractions going forward. Hill is a great player, but he is undoubtedly a distraction.

Also, McCoy would bolster a running back room that would give the Chiefs a true number one back to work with. For the Chiefs to make a long playoff run and to take on teams like the Patriots, Chargers and Colts in the AFC, they will need a strong running game in January.

With the addition of McCoy, the Chiefs have a veteran running back to pair along with Damien Williams and Carlos Hyde, giving them a ton of talent and experience in the backfield. I believe McCoy would have a rebound season in a Chiefs’ uniform and would likely crust the 1,000-yard rushing mark.

Zay Jones would come into Kansas City as the number three receiver on the depth chart. Jones could revive his career with Patrick Mahomes throwing the ball to him. That would put rookie Mecole Hardman in the lineup to start alongside Sammy Watkins.

I really like Hardman and think he will become Mahomes’ favorite target this season and can be a surprise early on like Calvin Ridley was last season in Atlanta. Overall, I think the trio of Hardman, Watkins and Zones could be a strong trio for the Chiefs this upcoming season. It may not be a sexy lineup, but it could undoubtedly be a productive one.

In the end, I think this works for both teams. This could be the trade to push the Kansas City Chiefs over the top while giving the Buffalo Bills a dynamic wide receiver to grow with their young quarterback.
