5. Denver Broncos: Bradley Chubb, EDGE, N.C. State

Original Pick: Bradley Chubb

Back to another original pick staying the same in the re-draft. During the 2018 NFL Draft process, John Elway and the Broncos were linked to quite a few different quarterbacks, with pretty much all of their attempts at finding a franchise quarterback since Peyton Manning have not panned out.

Most people did not think that Bradley Chubb would be available at five for the Broncos, with most people mocking him to the Giants or Browns, leaving a big question mark for Denver.

Ultimately, Chubb “fell” to five (if you can really say that) and the Broncos jumped at the opportunity to snag the best pass rusher in the draft. Chubb proved to be just that. He started all 16 games for the Broncos and managed to rack up 12.0 sacks in his rookie season, more than his All-Pro counterpart Von Miller his first season in the NFL.

Additionally, Chubb ranked third on the team with 60 combined tackles and forced two fumbles in 2018. Chubb had three multi-sack games and totaled 10.5 sacks in a nine-game stretch from game 4 to game 11.

Despite his success, Chubb seemed to go under the radar a bit last season. He may not have been the most flashy top-five pick, but 12 sacks in a rookie season is very impressive. Chubb should prove to be a perfect pass-rushing partner for Miller, forming one of the most feared tandems in the NFL for years to come.
