3. Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

We are going to dig a little bit deeper for this one. The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the most talented teams in the entire NFL. Howie Roseman has done an incredible job of building their roster, leaving them with few actual holes on the roster.

In the second round (53rd overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft, Roseman and company filled arguably their biggest positional need with a bullet, taking running back Miles Sanders out of Penn State. Sanders was only the featured back for one season in college, but he showed incredible instincts and overall ability in college. Plus, considering he spent most of his time sitting behind Saquon Barkley, we will not hold his lack of college experience against him.

Sanders is a patient and instinctive runner who shows fantastic ball carrier vision. His lateral agility is a major plus as is his burst through the hole. Sanders does a fantastic job of finding space and has the quickness and overall athleticism to get there. He is also elusive in the open field, finishes with power and is an asset in the passing game. Basically, this guy does it all.

Eagles head coach Doug Peterson loves to feature the running back position and while I expect guys like Jordan Howard and Corey Clement to be in the mix, Sanders is the most talented back of the bunch. He should quickly find himself in a major role in the offense and with elite talent surrounding him, I expect Sanders to have a ton of immediate success.

He may not be the most obvious contender, but Miles Sanders has all the makings of a great offensive rookie of the year candidate.
