What would be the current state of the Jacksonville Jaguars if they had made these selections in the 2017 NFL Draft?

2017 was an incredible year to be a Jacksonville Jaguars fan. They enjoyed their first 10-win season since 2007 and won their first playoff games in a decade before the New England Patriots finally ended their Cinderella run in the AFC Championship game. Two years later and that magic now seems lost.

The Jaguars fell apart in 2018 and will go into the 2019 season with a whole new identity on offense. Their lack of return on investment from their 2017 class is one reason as to why things went south so quickly.

After a promising rookie campaign, former fourth overall pick Leonard Fournette has missed nine games due to various injuries and another two from suspensions in his short career. Second-round pick Cam Robinson had an up and down rookie year but showed enough promise to leave fans excited for the future. However, he too has had the injury bug, as he missed nearly the entire 2018 season with a torn ACL.

In fact, the only selection of the Jaguars seven draftees in 2017 that has been worth their pick thus far is fourth-round wide receiver, Dede Westbrook.

While there is still time for these young players to prove that the team made the right choice by taking them, it’s hard not to play the “what if” game and look back at who they could have gotten instead.

This Jacksonville Jaguars redraft will let hindsight tell us who should have been in their 2017 draft class.
