29. Indianapolis Colts: Trent Brown, OT, Florida

Original Pick: Phillip Dorsett

The Colts ended up trading Phillip Dorsett to the Patriots because he wasn’t the star receiver they thought they were getting. The Colts ended up getting Jacoby Brissett to start in place of injured Andrew Luck who was done for the year due to a shoulder injury.

The Patriots looked at adding Dorsett to play while Edelman went down with a torn ACL injury. It was a win win for both sides. Trent Brown was the only player that was drafted in the seventh round to be re-drafted in this 2015 NFL Draft scenario but has been a solid offensive tackle for San Francisco and New England and would have been a strong piece for the Colts up front.

30. Green Bay Packers: Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington

Original Pick: Damarious Randall

The Packers take Shaq Thompson here as they lack linebackers and Thompson has improved each season for Carolina. Damarious Randall has been productive for Green Bay before they shipped him away to Cleveland for quarterback DeShone Kizer. Randall has been solid having at least three interceptions a year, but Thompson would have been a more impactful player.

31. New Orleans Saints: Eric Kendricks, LB, UCLA

Original Pick: Stephone Anthony

Stephone Anthony was also traded, going from New Orleans to the Miami Dolphins. After a good first year, he fell off drastically for the Saints. After recording 112 tackles in year one, he’s only had 38 tackles the next three years combined. I like Eric Kendricks here because he’s put up four really good years in Minnesota. Kendricks has 422 tackles, 8.5 sacks and four interceptions and is one of my favorite defensive players in this entire draft.

32. New England Patriots: Frank Clark, DE, Michigan

Original Pick: Malcom Brown

Malcom Brown was already taken off the board when the Pats were on the clock. They finish the first round off by taking a gem in Frank Clark. In four seasons with the Seahawks, he had 35 total sacks total, and two of his four years have had double digit sack totals. He has been good for Pete Carroll in Seattle, is going to be great in Kansas City and would have been fantastic for the Patriots.
