Re-Drafting the 2015 NFL Draft: Where do Winston and Mariota end up?
20. Philadelphia Eagles: Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State
Original Pick: Nelson Agholor
Tyler Lockett goes from being drafted in the third round to jumping up to the 20th selection due to the fact he’s gotten better ever year in Seattle. He had his best season last year, finishing with close to 1,000 yards receiving and cracking ten touchdowns.
Nelson Agholor hasn’t been bad, he just hasn’t been able to eclipse over 1,000 yards receiving and double-digit touchdowns. Lockett in Philly would have been better for Sam Bradford at the time in 2015, and then Nick Foles before Carson Wentz was drafted.
21. Cincinnati Bengals: Mitch Morse, C, Missouri
Original Pick: Cedric Ogbuehi
Cedric Ogbuehi was the biggest bust in the entire draft and any player the Bengals went with would be better for them. I look at Mitch Morse as the perfect pick here who was originally selected by Kanas City in the second round to pair next to Cordy Glenn.
Glenn replaced Ogbuehi last season and in this past draft they picked up Jonah Williams the best offensive tackle in 2019. Morse would fill a big need for the Bengals and would give some stability on the offensive line to help protect Andy Dalton.
22. Pittsburgh Steelers: Bud Dupree, EDGE, Kentucky
Original Pick: Dupree
Dante Flower is still on the board but the Steelers decide to stick with Bud Dupree. There is no reason why they shouldn’t either, he’s been good in the Steelers defense racking up 20 career sacks in four seasons as a starter. The Steelers always find a guy that seems to fit their style of play and I believe he’s a better fit than Fowler or Beasley would have been in this defense.
