Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could also be an attractive spot for Gordon. Why you ask? Well, the great weather is one reason, but they also lack impact depth at running back and Gordon would be a great fit in a Bruce Arians offense.

While the Buccaneers have been a bad team for the last couple of years, Arians can change the culture here quickly. Arians is known for his aggressive style on offense, consistently pushing the ball down the field in the passing game.

Melvin Gordon could thrive in a system that relies heavily on throwing deep routes to the wide receivers because once the opposing defense is trying to stop the pass, that may create some holes for Gordon to run up the middle as well as give the Bucs a dynamic look on offense.

The running backs for the Bucs are also not appealing as they expect to feature Peyton Barber, Ronald Jones and Andre Ellington for the 2019 season. Simply put, there is a lot of room for an upgrade here and the current Los Angeles Chargers star running back would certainly fill the void.

The Bucs would need to clear some cap space to make a push for Gordon if they are serious about trading for him though. They have just under $8 million in cap space and would need at least $12 million, maybe more, to lock him down to a longer deal.

This will come down to who offers the most in a trade to the Chargers to see whether or not he gets moved. Personally, I think the Packers are the best fit for his services, but all three of these teams make plenty of sense.
