Houston Texans

The Houston Texans make sense because they have the weakest running back depth in the league and they have a lot of other pieces on the offense to win games now. Last year, Houston finished 11-5, despite a slow start to the season. Houston has a young quarterback in Deshaun Watson and a pair of wide receivers in DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller. Adding Gordon would be another weapon on offense for Watson to use.

Houston’s running backs are led by the duo of Lamar Miller and D’Onta Foreman. Miller has been in the league seven seasons and only registered two seasons above the 1,000-yard mark in 2014, and 2016. Foreman has only been in the NFL for two seasons and has struggled mightily with injuries. He is still a talented back who has some upside, but he has not proven himself to be a franchise back at this point.

One other plus is Houston has over $40 million in salary-cap space to work with. They can easily make a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers and then sign Gordon to a new long-term extension. I think Gordon fits in Houston well because he would bring balance to the offensive side of the ball.

His ability as a runner and receiver would drastically help take the pressure off of Watson and immediately raise the ceiling of the Texans’ offense.
