Phillip Lindsay, RB, Denver Broncos

Phillip Lindsay provided NFL fans with one of the best stories of the 2018 season as he became the first undrafted offensive rookie to ever make a Pro Bowl. The pint-sized back finished his magical season with the Denver Broncos with 1,037 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns, all while starting just eight games and splitting carries with fellow rookie, Royce Freeman. Lindsay also produced in the passing game, finishing sixth on the team in receptions with 35.

The former Colorado Buffalo reminded everybody that size is not nearly as important as talent, work ethic and heart. That being said, Lindsay will face an uphill battle to repeat his incredible performance last year.

He is coming off of a wrist injury that cut his rookie season short and it has kept him out of a big portion of the Broncos offseason program as well. Add in the fact that the Broncos will likely continue to split carries between him and Royce Freeman, who many believe will take a step forward in 2019.

Phillip Lindsay’s talent is undeniable, so don’t expect his impact to take a big hit. That being said, now that he is a proven player, teams will be scheming to defend him specifically within their offense. Denver fans should prepare for a slight decrease in his rushing numbers this year.
