2017 NFL Draft Redo: Re-Drafting the entire first round
26. Atlanta Falcons: Larry Ogunjobi, DT, Charlotte
Original Pick: Takk McKinley
Takkarist McKinley is still a talented edge rusher with some upside, but there are better options on the board for the Atlanta Falcons here. Larry Ogunjobi is a stout run defender who has the quickness and athleticism to make some noise as an interior penetrator. He is one of the most underrated players from the 2017 NFL draft class and would undoubtedly be a better player for Atlanta than McKinley has been.
27. Buffalo Bills: Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
Original Pick:
This is probably my favorite fit at the end of this re-draft. Fifth overall always felt too high for Corey Davis. The Titans just fell in love with his upside and he has been a disappointment thus far, but it’s not his fault. He never should have been drafted that high. That being said, he is still a talented player who has some upside going forward.
Wide receiver continues to be a major position of need for the Bills. Davis has the upside and ability to be a true number one receiver. He would have been a nice get for the Bills in the 2017 NFL Draft.
28. Dallas Cowboys: Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
Original Pick: Taco Charlton
In 2017, Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams were the starting wide receivers for the Dallas Cowboys. Instead of drafting Taco Charlton, the Cowboys address their obvious lack of receiver depth by bringing in Mike Williams.
Williams proved to be a dynamic red zone target last season, catching 10 touchdowns for the Los Angeles Chargers. Williams was also probably over-drafted (seventh overall), but he is a nice value for the Cowboys here.
