2017 NFL Draft Redo: Re-Drafting the entire first round
23. New York Giants: Taylor Moton, OT, Western Michigan
Original Pick: Evan Engram
The offensive line for the New York Giants has been a mess for a long time. They probably should have addressed it in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, but instead opted for tight end, Evan Engram. With the gift of hindsight, we now know the direction they really should have gone.
Taylor Moton has become a stud right tackle for the Carolina Panthers. He would easily be the best offensive lineman for the Giants and would have been a great pick for the team with the 23rd pick.
24. Oakland Raiders: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
Original Pick: Gareon Conley
O.J. Howard just feels like too good of a player to fall any further. The Gareon Conley pick did not work out for the Oakland Raiders and they could certainly use a tight end. Howard would have immediately raised the ceiling of their offense as a dangerous target in the middle of the field.
25. Cleveland Browns: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
Original Pick: Jabrill Peppers
The Browns have built an incredibly impressive roster over the last two years. That being said, at the time of the 2017 NFL Draft, they were still a mess. Jabrill Peppers became an important trade chip for Cleveland and is probably a bit underrated. That being said, I like the value of offensive tackle Cam Robinson here and he fills one of their most important long-term needs.
