The 2017 NFL Draft was absolutely loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. Two years later, how would the draft have changed?

Let’s take a step back and take a look at the players from the 2017 NFL Draft. Two years later, this draft class appears to be legitimately loaded with talent, as teams found many playmakers and solid contributors across both sides of the ball.

After their 1-15 2016 season, the Cleveland Browns held the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and three first-round selections overall. Taking Myles Garrett with the first pick, the Browns were able to find a legitimate star defender to build their defense around. The next year, Cleveland took Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick and now head into the 2019 season primed to be legitimate contenders in the AFC.

What an impressive turnaround for the Browns, but if they could do it all over again, would Garrett still be the pick? He has been great through his first two NFL seasons and clearly has a lot of upside going forward. That being said, there is a certain quarterback named Patrick Mahomes who was also in this draft.

These are the kinds of situations that we are going to be looking at in this post. We are turning back the clocks and using the information that we have learned about these prospects over the last two years to determine what would happen if the 2017 NFL Draft were to take place right now.

What do the Browns do with the first pick?
