A complete 2017 NFL Draft redo for the Kansas City Chiefs
Round 5: David Moore, WR, East Central University
Original Pick: Ukeme Eligwe, LB, Georgia Southern
Things are getting much more difficult as this NFL re-draft winds down. There were not a lot of impact players taken late in the 2017 NFL Draft, but you can find a few if you squint a little bit.
David Moore was a seventh-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 and has carved out a nice role with the team. Last season, Moore caught 26 passes for 445 yards and five touchdowns. He is a quick receiver who has a solid combination of size and athleticism.
Moore has shown an ability to get open in his short NFL career and could have been a nice weapon for Mahomes in the Chiefs’ offense. If nothing else, he’s a much better pick than Eligwe.
Round 6: Harrison Butker, K, Georgia Tech
Original Pick: Leon McQuay, S, USC
A familiar face for the Kansas City Chiefs with their final pick. Harrison Butker was a seventh-round selection by the Carolina Panthers in the 2017 NFL Draft. Early in the 2017 season, the Chiefs signed Butker off of the Panthers’ practice squad to replace the injured Cairo Santos. Butker has been nothing short of automatic for the Chiefs.
In 32 career games (including three playoff games), Butker has made 64-of-72 field goals attempted. He is one of the best young kickers in the NFL and stands out as a premier pick late in the 2017 NFL Draft.
