Round 3: Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama

Original Pick: Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo

What is there to say about Kareem Hunt? He proved to be one of the most talented running back in the NFL during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, he is a bad guy who the Chiefs simply did not have time for. On the field, there is a lot to like about Hunt, but I am not taking him here again. No chance. Plus, after snagging Kamara, who needs him?

Instead of Hunt, the Chiefs attack the defensive side of the ball in the third round. The secondary was a major issue for the Kansas City Chiefs, but if they would have drafted Eddie Jackson in the 2017 NFL Draft, that may not have been the case.

Jackson has grown into one of the best coverage safeties in the entire NFL. He has fantastic range on the back-end, is an extremely instinctual player and has elite-level ball skills. In today’s NFL, where the passing game is king, having a guy like Jackson on the back-end is an absolute game changer.

In 14 games in 2018, Jackson piled up six interceptions (two of which were returned for touchdowns) and 15 passes defended. He was also voted to the Pro Bowl and was a first-team All-Pro selection. Simply put, Jackson is arguably the best in the business and would have undoubtedly been a phenomenal pick by the Chiefs.
