Fourth round: George Kittle, TE, Iowa

Original pick: Howard Wilson, CB, Houston

Now this would be a coup, wouldn’t it? After all the Browns have already done in this draft class on the offensive side of the ball, George Kittle was still sitting there in the fourth round for them. As a matter of fact, Kittle wasn’t selected until the fifth round by the San Francisco 49ers.

He has quickly developed into what I believe to be the best tight end in the NFL in 2019 (at least, with Rob Gronkowski retired).

Imagine having both he and Patrick Mahomes. The Browns could have done it.

Kittle led the NFL in yards after the catch per reception last season for any position.

Fifth round: Nathan Gerry, LB/S, Nebraska

Original pick: Roderick Johnson, OT, Florida State

There weren’t a ton of impact players still on the board here, but Nathan Gerry out of Nebraska would have been a solid pick for any team on day three of this particular draft class.

He was a very productive safety/linebacker at Nebraska with the athleticism to play all over the defense and in every phase of special teams.

Sixth round: Chris Carson, RB, Oklahoma State

Original pick: Caleb Brantley, DL, Florida

In the late rounds, the Browns get a powerful back in Chris Carson to complement the flashier style of Alvin Kamara.

Carson ended up being a seventh-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks, and he’s proven to be more than just a power complement in the NFL. He rushed for over 1,100 yards last season with Seattle and nine touchdowns, averaging nearly five yards per carry.

Seventh round (a): Harrison Butker, K, Georgia Tech

Original pick: Zane Gonzalez, K, Arizona

The Browns took a kicker with their first seventh round pick, and Gonzalez is getting a shot now with the Arizona Cardinals, but Harrison Butker has been a very good player for the Kansas City Chiefs.

In fact, he’s missed just seven of his 69 career attempts with the Chiefs, good for a 90 percent success rate.

Seventh round (b): Dylan Cole, LB, Missouri State

Original pick: Matthew Dayes, RB, NC State

The ultra athletic Dylan Cole has only been healthy for 20 of a possible 32 games to start his NFL career, but he played in 12 games as a rookie and had two interceptions (including a pick-six) and started a game for Houston.

He has starting ILB qualities and is one of the top UDFAs in this particular class.
