The Jacksonville Jaguars defense is full of household names at this point but fans should be ready to familiarize themselves with another one in 2019. Second-year safety Ronnie Harrison is likely to be on a lot of lists when it comes to breakout players around the league in 2019, and for good reason.

In 2018, the third round pick out of Alabama racked up 32 total tackles and notched a sack and had an interception as well, before his season was cut short with a knee injury.

Harrison’s impact was in a rotational role early on, as he didn’t even get his first start until week 13. He clearly left quite the impression, though, as the Jaguars soon thereafter, released veteran Barry Church, who had started every game at the position to that point.

Understandably so, as the rook made an immediate impact and made one of the most clutch plays of the Jags season after sacking Andrew Luck on fourth down with only two minutes to play in a one-possession game. Quite the debut.

While it was a limited sample size, Harrison made the most of his opportunities on the field and showed that he is the perfect fit for the back-end of that talented Duval defense. He displayed an aggressive style of play and made plays when they were there to be made.

As Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye look to lock down the boundaries, expect Harrison to show that he can help clean up the rest as he looks to elevate his name to their level in 2019.
