Tight end Albert Okwuegbunam is an ideal fit for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys have secured their tight end situation, at least for one season. Jason Witten is coming down from the Monday Night Football booth and putting his Cowboys uniform back on. Witten will undoubtedly help the Cowboys in 2019, but the tight end position is still a major concern going forward.

The Cowboys would be wise to address the tight end position in the 2020 NFL Draft and Missouri’s Albert Okwuegbunam is the best of the bunch. According to Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports, Okwuegbunam is the ideal fit in the 2020 draft for the Dallas Cowboys.

"“At 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, the man many announcers call “Albert O” is a large target with reliable hands who’s consistently been a threatening downfield and yards-after-the-catch option in the Tigers’ spread offense,” Trapasso wrote.“Even with the return of Jason Witten, the Cowboys know they need to address the future of the tight end spot,” he continued. “And a young, reliable, athletic tight end being drafted early makes perfect sense when it’ll likely coincide with a new, lucrative contract for quarterback Dak Prescott. Albert O is on track to be a first-round pick, and Dallas will have one again in 2020. This looks like a match made in football heaven for the Cowboys.”"

With Missouri losing quarterback Drew Lock to the NFL draft, Albert O may not improve much on his stat line from last season (43 receptions for 466 yards and six touchdowns). However, we have to look past the stat line here.

Okwuebunam has a fantastic combination of size and athleticism that will undoubtedly play at the next level. He has tremendous natural upside and an ideal fit for the modern NFL. Make no mistake about it, Albert O has a chance to come in and be an elite NFL tight end early in his career.

The Cowboys have done an incredible job of building their offense over the years. Adding an impact tight end like Okwuebunam could be the final piece to take them over the top.
