4. Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Ramsey, CB

Original Pick: RB Ezekiel Elliott

Now, let’s have some fun. After going chalk with the first three picks, the Dallas Cowboys mix it up a bit at number four. It is hard to argue with their actual selection of Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott has quickly become one of the best running backs in the entire league and is undoubtedly the most dynamic weapon in the Cowboys offense.

That being said, running back production is replaceable. Elliott is incredible, but the Cowboys could easily find an adequate replacement for him in the backfield at a fraction of the cost associated. With this in mind, taking a running back this early can be hard to swallow. Even one as good as Elliott.

Instead of Elliott, the Cowboys take cornerback Jalen Ramsey in this re-draft. Ramsey has grown into one of the best cornerbacks in the entire league, consistently locking down his side of the field on one of the best defenses in the NFL. He is a dominant man-to-man cornerback who is arguably the only corner in the league who can compete against any NFL receiver. Simply put, Ramsey would have immediately taken the Cowboys defense to the next level and would be leading an elite unit into 2019.

Both Elliott and Ramsey are among the best at their position in the entire league. When it comes down to it, it is much more difficult to find a shut-down cornerback than to find a star running back, making Ramsey the logical choice.
