Re-Drafting the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft
17. Atlanta Falcons: Keanu Neal, S
Original Pick: Neal
The Atlanta Falcons made a strong pick when they took Keanu Neal at number 17 in the 2016 NFL Draft. Neal was an All-Rookie selection in 2016 and a Pro Bowl selection in 2017. He is a hard-hitting safety who shows good coverage skills and is a tremendous run defender.
Neal is a quick and explosive athlete who will undoubtedly play a major role with the Falcons when he returns from his knee injury in 2019. Neal falling back to 17 is basically a perfect situation for Atlanta.
Indianapolis Colts: Tyreek Hill, WR
Original Pick: C Ryan Kelly
I debated whether I should even include Tyreek Hill in this re-draft. Hill had off-field issues entering the NFL and they have not gotten much better this offseason. However, based on his on-field production alone, Hill is one of the best picks from the 2016 NFL Draft and needed to be included in this practice.
Ryan Kelly has been a good starting center for the Indianapolis Colts and is a big reason why they have been able to turn their offensive line into a strength. However, the idea of pairing Hill with T.Y. Hilton is too tempting to pass up.
Adding Hill’s incredible speed and quickness to the Colts’ offense would be an absolute game changer. Defenses would have to choose between defending him or Hilton deep and Luck could make them choose wrong every single time.
