How would the 2016 NFL Draft change if we could turn back time and use the information we now know?

The 2016 NFL Draft was certainly an interesting one. It is still early in these player’s careers, but as things stand right now, there are gifted players at all of the important NFL positions.

In the 2016 NFL Draft, we saw two middle of the pack teams give up the assets to trade up for their franchise quarterbacks. Three years later, both of these teams have been in the Super Bowl and are among the obvious championship contenders for the 2019 season.

If we could go back in time, how would the 2016 draft change? Would the quarterbacks still go at the top? Which teams made obvious poor selections that can now be fixed?

In this post, we are going to re-draft the entire first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Just a couple of things to keep in mind before we get started. These selections are being made with the 2016 NFL rosters in mind. Just because a team has a huge need for a certain position right now, doesn’t mean that it was a need for the team in 2016.

Basically, we are taking what we know about these players through the first few years of their career and applying it to selections made in 2016. If only the real NFL draft worked this way.

Without further ado, here is how the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft should have gone.
