With the NFL Draft well behind us and OTAs underway, let’s take a good at some of the top NFL free agents and their potential landing spots.

While the bulk of free agency is long over, there are still some interesting NFL free agents worth talking about. At this point in the year, just about all 32 NFL teams are partaking in some form of OTA or some form of a minicamp.

Right now, coaches and front offices not only get to install their plans for the upcoming season but also get a chance to observe the current state of their teams.

Some may see the blossoming potential of their roster who needs one or two more signings to get their team over the top. While others may be going, “Geez, we need more talent”, and sign a guy just to add something to their roster.

That’s why I have devised a list to see who are the best possible NFL free agents who are still without a job, as well as match them with the team that needs them most.

I should also preface by saying that some of these “fits” may come as a surprise given the players these teams already have. However, I contend that teams who want to win right now really want to win now.

Eric Berry – Safety – Best Team Fit: Dallas Cowboys

Not to quote Chris Collinsworth, but here’s a guy who I am very surprised is still unsigned. Ever since he came into the league back in 2010, Eric Berry has always been regarded as one of the best safeties in football.

Currently, the Dallas Cowboys are starting Jeff Heath at strong safety, that is not ideal for a team trying to make another playoff run.

While Berry is older and has had some less than stellar luck with injuries, Jerry Jones and Co. have to consider him as an option. Berry can still be a more than capable starter for the Cowboys, adding another veteran presence on the defense along with Robert Quinn and Sean Lee.
