The Texans entered the 2019 offseason as a team with some of the most cap space in the NFL.

That doesn’t mean they have to spend it all in one place, but there were players available who could have helped them substantially.

One of those players is former Denver Broncos center Matt Paradis, who wound up signing for less than $10 million per season with the Carolina Panthers.

Paradis ended last season on injured reserve, but he is one of the best centers in the league. The same cannot be said of Nick Martin at this point and the Texans had a chance to add a leader to their offensive line who has proven himself to be one of the best and most consistent players in the league at his position.

Paradis would have been a phenomenal pickup for Houston’s offensive line, but instead, they chose to go cheap on the offensive line in free agency.

Paradis could have been a major asset for DeShaun Watson up front, making all of the calls for the offensive line and leading that position group.
