Njoku was taken with the 29th overall pick by the Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft. He entered the league with an impressive physical skill set that gave him obvious upside as a receiving tight end in the NFL. He started to reach that immense upside last season, but there is undoubtedly more room to grow.
He shined in the middle of the field last season and showed a nice rapport with Mayfield. With Mayfield the Browns’ full-time quarterback going forward, Njoku should be able to take the next step in 2019.
On top of that, new Browns offensive coordinator Todd Monken should be able to create more opportunities for Njoku to shine. Monken is a brilliant offensive mind who showcased tight ends O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate when he was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Simply put, Njoku is a big-time talent who has a massive ceiling at the tight end position. His physical skill-set is legit and the Cleveland Browns are in a great position to give him opportunities for success. He is an obvious breakout candidate who is primed to take the next step this season.
