Ranking the Buffalo Bills’ top 5 offseason moves in 2019
1. Ed Oliver, DT (NFL Draft)
Touted as the next Aaron Donald, Ed Oliver showed he was a big play in a smaller package for a defensive tackle in his three years at Houston.
Despite struggling through some injuries this past season for the Cougars, Oliver has the potential to be an absolutely dominant player.
Playing in this attacking defense Sean McDermott has built? Even better.
Oliver is going to be at his best playing the 3T position and abusing guards with his quickness and power. At full strength, I don’t think the Aaron Donald comparisons are all that unfair or even just hyperbole.
Oliver has the chance to be every bit as impactful on the defensive line at the next level in this scheme.
Fun fact — the Bills had the NFL’s second-ranked defense last year in yards allowed. They are already a very good unit and with the addition of Oliver, they are even more dangerous.
This guy is the type of impact playmaker up front who can help take them to the next level.
