Philadelphia Eagles: 3 UDFAs who could make an impact
Kevin Wilkins, DT, Rutgers
One of the more notable stories amongst draft prospects was that of new Philadelphia Eagle Kevin Wilkins.
Ripped from his mother at a young age and thrust into foster care, the former Rutgers Scarlet Knight went through a lot before his dreams were finally realized when the Eagles signed him to a UDFA contract.
Wilkins finished his collegiate career with solid production as he was responsible for 122 tackles and 20 tackles for a loss in his four years. While his two career sacks may not impress, he is capable of performing as a pass rusher as he has a quick first step and showed solid ability to penetrate in 2018.
Wilkins is a similar size to fellow Eagle, Timmy Jernigan, but would likely be used as more of a rotational early down option to stuff the run. He may have some work to do to be able to crack the 52 man roster but Kevin Wilkins past proves that he is anything but a quitter and I think the smart money is on him.
