TJ Edwards, LB, Wisconsin

One position Philadelphia didn’t touch in the draft, which came as a bit of a surprise, was linebacker. The Eagles have two projected starters whose contracts are up after 2019 (Kamu Grugier-Hill & Zach Brown) and their depth leaves a lot to be desired.

This is why former Wisconsin Badger TJ Edwards could prove to be an important addition to that group in 2019 and beyond. Edwards has been one of the most productive linebackers in the country since he began his career in Madison.

In four years as a starter, Edwards totaled 366 tackles, 37.5 of those being for a loss, notched 8 sacks and pulled down 10 interceptions (most by LB in Wisconsin history).

While he may be considered an “old school” linebacker, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. He will provide the Eagles with intelligence, consistency and the occasional splash play that will be welcomed as a backup and special teamer.
