2019 NFL Season - QBs primed for their best season

Mitch Trubisky – Chicago Bears

Mitch Trubisky seems to be on a similar path to Jared Goff. Neither Goff nor Trubisky had much responsibility given to them in their first NFL seasons. In both of their second years, the amount of responsibility they were given greatly increased, and both made the most of it.

For Trubisky, he used his responsibility to complete 7.2% more of his passes, throw for 1,030 more yards, throw 17 more TDs and increase his passer rating by 17.9. Those were huge leaps from year one to year two.

For Goff, he took even more responsibility as a passer in his third NFL season, which eventually got his team to the Super Bowl. The 2019 NFL season will be Mitch Trubisky’s third NFL season. I’m not saying Trubisky will lead the Bears to the Super Bowl, but he will take on even more responsibility for the Bears, making him one of the QBs primed for their best season yet.

The Chicago Bears did a nice job of surrounding Trubisky with weapons last season. Some of those weapons included Allen Robinson, Trey Burton, Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller and Tarik Cohen. 2018 was their first season all together. The 2019 NFL season will show us how much this group of guys has grown. Trubisky may not have that star WR QBs love to have, but he’s got plenty of solid weapons at his disposal.

Trubisky’s previous career highs for passing yards and TDs are 3,223 and 24. I can see Trubisky easily eclipsing the 4,000 yard and 30 TD marks this season. The Chicago Bears will still be great on defense, but the season Mitch Trubisky will have in 2019 will have everyone in Chicago raving about him instead of Khalil Mack.
