1. Karl Joseph, Safety

Not that it’s an absolute requirement in order to be effective, but Karl Joseph has yet to play a full 16-game slate in his three NFL seasons.

The former West Virginia star has three interceptions in his NFL career so far, and was limited to just 48 tackles in eight starts last season.

The Raiders drafted Mississippi State’s Johnathan Abram in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and Abram is undoubtedly going to see action early.

The Raiders envision him as a key leader for their new-look defense, and that means Joseph’s job is in jeopardy.

He’s already been the subject of some trade rumors this offseason and the more Abram sees the field, the more likely those trade rumors are to heat up.

Joseph isn’t a bust at this point but it’s safe to say he has yet to live up to expectations of a first-round draft choice.

With the Raiders’ acquisition of LaMarcus Joyner along with the drafting of Abram, it seems likely that Joseph is going to be on the move — either to another team or to the bench — sooner than later.
