New Orleans Saints: 3 UDFAs who could make an impact
Devine Ozigbo, RB, Nebraska
One name that I really feel Saints fans should get familiar with going into 2019 is former Nebraska running back Devine Ozigbo.
After losing Mark Ingram in free agency, the Saints will be looking to maintain their thunder and lightning running style on offense. While they did bring in veteran Latavius Murray to be Alvin Kamara’s new wingman, Ozigbo has a chance to get added to the mix early on.
Ozigbo is a bulky back who relies mostly on his strength between the tackles but has also proven his ability in the passing game as well. He shows patience at the LOS and keeps his feet moving, which allows him to make sure he’s moving forward, even when nothing is there.
The proof of that is in his excellent 7 YPC average in 2018 as he rushed for 1,082 yards and scored 12 touchdowns.
Ozigbo has the skill set that I feel the Saints could really use as a complementary back to their two-headed system and he’s a guy who I can see making this roster and earning a role in that backfield in 2019.
